With the addition of beets, dates, and candied walnuts, this version is a new way to prepare your traditional charoset. And an even newer way to serve it? Set some aside to add to your favorite breakfast smoothie. Get the full recipe after the jump.
What You’ll Need:
1 1/2 cups walnuts
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 cooked beets
3 apples
1/2 cup dates
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup Manischewitz
What to Do:
Heat sugar until it starts to melt. Add chopped walnuts to the sugar until they are covered. Remove from heat and break apart the sugar-coated walnuts.
Dice beets and apples into bite-size pieces and chop dates into small pieces. Combine beets, apples, dates, candied walnuts with cinnamon, honey, and Manischewitz.
Don’t forget to set aside one cup of completed charoset for your charoset smoothie!
