Ignore the title of this blog: There is no such thing as the perfect burger, because in their own special way, all burgers are perfect. And even when they’re not perfect, they’re perfectly imperfect. But enough of this paradoxical preamble already, what follows are five of our fave burger picks.
Summer’s most wanted. Start with one of our favorite Local Angus RWA House Burgers (or your favorite beef), grill it to your liking, then top it with the classics—sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, and bacon, if you’re feeling it. Bread pick: sesame seed bun.
The “green” option. Make your own with your favorite veg, or opt for our ready-to-grill kale burger for ASAP eating. Top with avocado, tomato, red onion and hummus, for an extra juiciness. Bread pick: brioche bun.
When you’re craving a burger but want to eat a less fatty meat, turkey hits that savory spot. Choose turkey that’s not too lean, then top it with fried onions, jalapenos, and BBQ sauce to make the whole combo sing. Bread pick: toasted sesame bun.
Did you know? Bison is higher in protein and lower in cholesterol, fat, and calories than the traditional beef patty. Basic is the way to go here: grill it to rare or medium rare (bison is so lean you don’t want to overcook it), then top it with ketchup and mustard. Bread pick: Ciabatta roll, the better to contrast with the tender meat.
Take a trip to Greece with this burger alt. Our local grass-fed lamb is milder and sweeter than most, so all you really need is a little salt and pepper to bring out its best flavor. Top it with a mix of olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, and yogurt- cucumber sauce. Bread choice: toasted pita.
