Citrus fruits make healthy snacks during the cold winter months. In this easy recipe, we used extra-sweet tangerine segments (in this case, super-seasonal and delicious Satsuma tangerines) and added decadent chocolate and salty pistachios to kick them up a notch. They’re a fun dessert to prepare with your kids and make a great party snack!
What You’ll Need:
- 2 tangerines
- 4 ounces chocolate chips
- 3 ounces shelled pistachios
What to Do:
For our version, we used Satsuma tangerines, but clementines or oranges are also perfect for this sweet treat. Chop your pistachios before you melt your chocolate—we used the microwave for melting. (Again, we used chocolate chips, but use your favorite milk, white, or dark chocolate bars or chips.) Dip half of your slices in chocolate and place on your serving plate. Chop the pistachios and sprinkle generously while the chocolate is still warm.
If you’re making these ahead of time, place your finished oranges on parchment paper and refrigerate.
