Feeling crafty? We have a fun and easy idea to help you create beautiful seasonal place settings for your Thanksgiving table. Get the kids involved with this fresh take on table settings, and you’ll have one thing crossed off your holiday to-do list:
-Make the table fancy in no time flat.
Done! Instructions after the jump!
What You’ll Need:
-Leaf stencils of your choosing
-Construction paper or card stock
–Fresh apples and pears
-Marker or Sharpie
What to Do:
First, we searched to find simple leaf stencils (or cutouts) online. If you’re feeling really crafty, you can create your own designs for an extra handmade touch. Once you find the ones you like (we tried two — you can check out the maple leaf below), print so that the designs are big enough to fit your guests’ names but not so large they overshadow your fresh produce.
Trace your leaves onto construction paper or thicker card stock. Choose a color that will complement your Thanksgiving table (we chose cream). Once you’ve cut out a leaf for every guests (plus a couple extra just in case), use the side that does not have your stencil marks on it to write each name (we practiced our handwriting first — it’s been awhile!).
Punch a hole in the stem, and thread with your string (feel free to use long pieces, you can always trim them later). Tie the leaves to your fresh fruit, and trim for consistent length. Place each completed name card in the center of each guest’s plate. They’ll be dazzled!
