This matzo cracker house is the perfect craft for kids and doubles as a great conversation piece. We used Passover candies to cover up imperfections, but it’s not about making it perfect—just have fun!  Learn how to make your own after the cut.

What You’ll Need:
1 box of matzo crackers
Nut butter (such as almond or peanut, depending on your home’s religious and dietary needs)
Kosher candies and macaroons for decorating
Other: cardboard, scissors, butter knife, and glue

What to Do:
1. Make the cardboard base by cutting out a square base for your house, as well as four square pieces for the house walls, and two rectangular pieces for the roof.

2. Glue the cardboard pieces together. (This project is meant to be purely decorative, so feel free to use glue to construct the framework of your matzo house.)

3. Break out the matzo! Construct four squares for the house walls, and two rectangles for the roof. We used a butter knife to gently cut the matzo pieces. (Note: matzo breaks easily and edges will not be perfect. Just have fun!)

4. Attach all of the matzo to the cardboard using a nut butter of your choice. Add smaller squares of matzo for architectural elements, like windows and doors. (Note: You can also use glue for this step, if you prefer.)

5. Set the house in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until it’s chilled and set.

6. Time to decorate! Break out your favorite kosher treats to decorate the house. We spread nut butter on the roof and sprinkled coconut flakes over top. We cut jelly rings in half to create a scallop design underneath the roof line of our matzo house. Bonus: This also covers up imperfections in the matzo seams. Coconut macaroons act as the house “landscaping.”
