These fish are targeted one at a time off the coast of Nova Scotia where they travel up from South America, chasing the warmer weather and the smaller fish along the way. The result is a higher-fat content that translates to the most tender, juicy swordfish steak you\u2019ll eat all year. Just think of harpoon-caught swordfish as the prime rib of the sea.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: circular-bold; font-size: 32px;\"><strong>Braised Swordfish<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: circular-medium;\"><strong>What You&#8217;ll Need:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freshdirect.com\/meat_seafood\/sea\/sc\/fstk\/p\/fstk_swrdfsh\">4 swordfish steaks<\/a><br \/>\nFlour<br \/>\nSalt and pepper<br \/>\n1\/4 cup olive oil<br \/>\n2 red bell peppers, large diced<br \/>\n1 medium white onion, large diced<br \/>\n4 cloves garlic, sliced thin<br \/>\n1 cup dry white wine<br \/>\n4 cans of 14-ounce Italian peeled tomatoes, chopped<br \/>\n1\/2 cup pitted olives, sliced<br \/>\n2 tablespoons capers, drained<br \/>\nPinch of sugar<br \/>\nCrushed red pepper<br \/>\n1\/2 cup chopped fresh basil<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: circular-medium;\"><strong>What to Do:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nLiberally season swordfish steaks with salt and pepper and dust with flour.<\/p>\n<p>In a dutch oven or large skillet, over medium high heat, add half the oil and saut\u00e9 the swordfish for two minutes on each side until golden. If need be, saut\u00e9 two pieces at a time.<\/p>\n<p>Remove swordfish and turn heat to medium. Add remaining olive oil, peppers, onions and garlic and saut\u00e9 until soft. Stirring occasionally.<\/p>\n<p>Add wine. Scrape up any browning from the bottom of the pan and stir into the pot. Cook until wine has mostly evaporated, approximately 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomatoes, olives, capers, sugar and chili. Bring to a simmer and cook for two minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Return the swordfish to the pan and simmer for approximately 20 minutes on low heat until sauce starts to thicken.<\/p>\n<p>Add basil and serve.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: circular-bold; font-size: 32px;\"><strong>Grilled Moroccan-Style Swordfish<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-72981 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.freshdirect.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/grilled-swordfish.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: circular-medium;\">What You&#8217;ll Need:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freshdirect.com\/meat_seafood\/sea\/sc\/fstk\/p\/fstk_swrdfsh\">4 boneless swordfish steaks<\/a> (ideally 1 1\/4-inch thick)<br \/>\n2 tablespoons toasted cumin seed<br \/>\n2 tablespoons toasted cracked coriander seed<br \/>\n1 tablespoon harissa paste<br \/>\n1\/2 cup olive oil plus more for serving<br \/>\n1\/2 cup chopped cilantro, plus more for garnish<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped<br \/>\n1 teaspoon turmeric<br \/>\nFine sea salt and freshly ground black pepper<br \/>\nJuice of 2 Meyer lemons or regular lemons<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: circular-medium;\"><strong>What to Do:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nIn a bowl, stir together the cumin, coriander, harissa, olive oil, cilantro, garlic, and turmeric.<\/p>\n<p>Set the fish in a single layer in a glass baking dish.<\/p>\n<p>Pour mixture over fish, cover, and let marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare an outdoor grill for cooking, letting the coals burn until covered with white ash, or preheat an indoor grill or the broiler.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the fish and shake gently to release any excess oil.
