Domaine Jean de Bosmel Chablis Grand Cru Valmur

An exquisite Chablis Grand Cru, Domaine Jean de Bosmel has been producing wine in Chablis since 1814. Through inheritance, the family estate has been joined to that of Louis Moreau, one of Chablis' most talented winemakers. The Grand Cru Valmur parcel is handpicked — Louis generally starts picking first because the grapes ripen earlier thanks to their ideal exposure. In order to preserve the unique character of Grand Cru Valmur, the wine rests for 18 months in 500 liter barrels with minimal intervention before being bottled without filtration. Thanks to its multiple exposures to the sun, Grand Cru Valmur develops more specifically fruity and round aromas, less marked by the calcareous and clay subsoil. In the mouth, this wine displays a robust and powerful character, less dry than its neighboring grand crus. More concentrated and mineral than the regular Chablis, this is a brilliant food wine — enjoy with chicken, seafood, shellfish, and vegetable dishes. (from the vintner)
