Blandy's 5 Years Sercial Dry Madeira

Blandy's 5 Year Sercial is aged in the traditional Canteiro system. In this process the wine is gently heated by warm air in the lofts of the company's south facing lodge in Funchal acquiring nut and dried fruit character. Blandy's 5 Year Sercial is a pale, bright topaz color with a golden tinge. On the palate it is fresh with dry fruit, wood and citrus flavors and a fresh and nutty persistent finish. Sercial is the driest of the styles of Madeira and goes well with savory foods. It is excellent as an aperitif, but comes to life with fish dishes and Indian cuisine. You can also enjoy it with salted almonds, freshly cut spicy chorizo or picquillo peppers. Blandy's 5 year old Sercial is fined and does not require decanting.
