Gonzalez Byass Leonor Palo Cortado 12 Anos Seco Sherry
Sold out
This elegant dry sherry is known as the wild child of Jerez: Leonor's mysterious aging process gives it the nose of an amontillado and the mouthfeel of an oloroso. Made exclusively from the mosto yema, the most delicate and elegant Palomino grape juice from the free run and first press. After fermentation, the wine enters the Leonor solera. An empty space of ~100 liters is left in each cask so that the wine undergoes complete oxidation during the average 12 years aging. A light mahogany color with golden tones and a slightly orange rim. On the nose intense and complex with typical amontillado notes such as hazelnuts perfectly balanced with other aromas such as bitter orange and mature oak. Powerful and intense on the palate with toasted notes and a smooth and silky finish. Serve slightly chilled in small white wine glasses. Due to its power and structure this Palo Cortado is perfect with mature cheeses and strong meats such as venison. (from the vintner)
