Frank Phélan Saint-Estèphe Château Phélan Ségur

Frank Phélan, the second wine of Château Phélan Ségur, was first made in 1986. It bears the name of Bernard O'Phelan's son — Frank Phélan. He was a mayor of Saint-Estèphe for 30 years, a man of character, and like him, this wine maintains its identity and specific quality, vintage after vintage. The bouquet is full of ripe red fruit, cinnamon, and coffee; on the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with ripe cassis fruit against a firm backbone of tannin. Best served with veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, and roast chicken. (from the vintner)
