Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Sold out

Almost 50 years ago, Chuck Wagner, along with his parents, Charlie and Lorna Wagner, founded Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford, Napa Valley. The Wagners come from a long line of grape growers and winemakers, with a history in Napa Valley dating back to the 1850s. The best barrels of Caymus Cabernet are set aside for the Special Selection — the only wine in the world honored twice as Wine Spectator magazine's "Wine of the Year." A dark plum red, with aromas of melting dark chocolate, ripe cherries, violets, wisps of smoke and bakery spice. The palate is intense, layered and lingering, featuring dark currant, cocoa and roasted coffee. Tannins are super-fine and soft, alternating between serious and playful. Rich Cabernet flavors last long after entry. Pushing the limits of richness and concentration, this Cabernet is enjoyable upon release or improves with aging a decade or more. Enjoy with filet mignon, pork tenderloin, pizza, pasta, and hard cheeses. (from the vintner)
