Goldeneye Pinot Noir Anderson Valley

Sold out
Goldeneye was founded in 1996 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn to make world-class Noir. Building on their pioneering success with Napa Valley Merlot, the Duckhorn's looked to Anderson Valley in the north for their Pinot winery. The rustic valley's unique east-west orientation and opening to the Pacific give it an enormous range of microclimates. Goldeneye is a blend of Pinot Noir from four different estate vineyards. Combining the lush fruit of warmer vineyards with the rustic elegance of grapes from the cooler "deep end" of the valley yields a rich and beautifully textured Pinot Noir with velvety tannins and bright acidity. On the palate, flavors of candied cherry and dark plum are underscored by deeper notes of forest floor. The finish is long and supple, with lively fruit and just a touch of French oak. Enjoy with roast duck, chicken, veal, lamb and vegetable dishes. (from the vintner)
