Calaña Organic Monastrell

Sold out
Bodega Alceño has been making wine in Jumilla, Spain since 1870, specializing in the Monastrell grape. The grapes used are taken from organically planted vineyards, that are situated 600-900 meters above sea level and planted on calcareous soils. The wine is rich and full-bodied with blackberry and plum flavors along with hints of black pepper and smoke, framed by strong tannins. Pair with rich meat dishes like pork shoulder, barbecue, lamb, and other grilled foods. For cheeses, try a selection of sharp cheddar, manchego, or smoked Gouda. (from the vintner)
