Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne Brut

Originally made for the Tsar and the Russian aristocracy, Cristal is still regarded as one of the very best examples of prestige cuvée Champagne. Cristal is a wine that keeps well: it can be conserved for over twenty years without losing its freshness and character. Produced uniquely during the best years, when the Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot Noir (around 60%) grapes have attained perfect maturity, Cristal is aged for six years in Louis Roederer's cellars and left for a further eight months after disgorgement. A wine of pure pleasure and a sophisticated gastronomic wine, Cristal is both powerful and delicate, combining subtlety and precision. It has a golden hue with slightly orange-colored and warm highlights. It has impeccable, fine, regular, and dynamic bubbles. Its classic bouquet is both elegant and discreet. The attack of juicy ripe fruits (Pear Williams) and slightly acid red fruits (redcurrants) combined with nuances of hot pastries and Tarte Tatin that have just been taken out of the oven.
