Twin Vines, made by Jose Maria da Fonseca, is a refreshing white wine from the Vinho Verde DOC in northwest Portugal. It celebrates the May 2007 birth of twin daughters to Antonio Maria Soares Franco and his wife. Jose Maria da Fonseca is one of the most prestigious wineries in Portugal. The Soares Franco family, owners of Jose Maria da Fonseca, have been involved in the wine business for seven generations. Pale straw-colored wine with green highlights. The nose has fresh aromas of tropical fruit, melon, banana, and lime. The palate is slightly spritzy yet lively, with refreshing citrus fruit flavors. An all-occasion pour, this crisp, refreshing, versatile wine pairs well with salads, chicken, rice dishes, seafood and vegetable pasta dishes, shellfish and seafood. (from the vintner)
