Steinschaden is a family-run winery in the Kamp Valley, one of Austria's biggest wine producing areas. It boasts three different types of soil and is blessed with an optimal climate for vineyards. This leads to wines of great finesse and diversity. Steinschaden's cellar also boasts the oldest basket wine press in the German-speaking part of Europe (dating back to 1564 A.D.), and the biggest refillable wooden barrel in Austria and Germany (with an empty weight of 10 tons and holding up to 40,400 litres). Their Grüner Veltliner from the Kamptal has a fruity, peppery nose with notes of apples and exotic fruits. A charming white to enjoy with shellfish, white fish, chicken, and salads. (from the vintner)
