Nicolas Girard is one of the rising stars in Sancerre, Menetou-Salon, and Quincy regions. He took over his family farm in 2007, and now manages 45 acres of vineyard between these appellations. Quincy, like its more famous neighboring sister Sancerre to the east, is a region that specializes in racy Sauvignon Blancs, but at an excellent value. The nose is fresh and vibrant with floral and citrus notes that carry through on the round full palate. Enjoy with goat cheese, shellfish (especially oysters), salads, and smoked salmon — and get ready to be hooked on this up-and-coming Loire Valley region. (from the vintner)
