    What is FreshDirect At The Office?
    FreshDirect At The Office brings businesses the same delicious, high-quality food that's made FreshDirect indispensable for tens of thousands of households, with expanded product and service offerings especially for corporate clients.

    These include:

    • Great single serve, whole bean, and ground coffees with a variety of milk and cream
    • Chef-prepared breakfast and luncheon catering platters perfect for business meetings
    • Popular brands of snacks, beverages and pantry-stocking items
    • Delicious restaurant-quality individual meals

    How does FreshDirect At The Office delivery work?

    When you place your order, select a delivery timeslot as soon as the next day. A FreshDirect driver will bring the order to your building and deliver it to your designated floor or receiving area.

    Please make sure that the driver can get into the building during the designated delivery timeslot. You'll recognize our drivers by their FreshDirect uniforms and by the boxes of carefully packed fresh food they'll have with them.

    When does FreshDirect At The Office deliver?
    We deliver from Monday through Friday, starting as early as 8 a.m. You can schedule a delivery timeslot up to a week in advance, or as late as 7 p.m. the day before for Tuesday through Friday orders and 11:59 p.m. on Saturday for Monday orders.

    Where does FreshDirect At The Office deliver?
    We deliver to many or most addresses in the following counties:

    Is there a charge for At the Office delivery?

    Why is the delivery fee higher for businesses?
    FreshDirect At The Office makes sure that corporate/office clients have additional product and service offerings that are especially tailored for the workplace, including a dedicated corporate account manager and hospitality team, unique features like Standing Order, and more tailored product sizes and weekly specials. In addition, it typically takes more time to deliver to corporate/office clients due to larger orders, and the requirement that office deliveries go through security and separate freight elevators.


    What if no one is available to receive the order?
    If you think that no one will be available to receive your scheduled delivery, or if you miss your delivery, please call FreshDirect Customer Service at 1-212-796-8002.

    If your order cannot be redelivered that day there is a restocking fee of 100% of the cost of perishable items in the order plus 25% of the cost of packaged goods plus 50% of the total amount of any beer items, excluding fees and tax.


    How long will my order stay fresh in the delivery boxes?
    Refrigerated perishables will stay fresh in the delivery boxes up to two hours after delivery. Frozen items should be placed in a freezer immediately.


    Why is business delivery only available from Monday through Friday?
    The majority of our business customers request delivery service from Monday to Friday, and most business we serve have freight elevators which only operate during this time.


    Can I pick up my order at your facility?
    Yes, anyone in the FreshDirect area can place an order online for pickup at our facility, located just outside the Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City, Queens. For details, see our Delivery & Pickup Info.


    How can I receive a Certificate Of Insurance?
    If this is your first time shopping with FreshDirect, please email us your requirements via the Get Help section on the website. It usually takes approximately 3 to 5 business days to receive a completed Certificate of Insurance form. Once you have a completed COI form on file with us, we will automatically renew it each year.


    What is the Buy Big department?
    We offer case sizes and bulk packs of some of our most popular items, and you'll get discounted prices when you buy by the case. Find your favorite drinks, dairy goods, household supplies and more.


    Who is responsible for assembling my order?
    At FreshDirect, the only workers who handle your food have special expertise in their area. So, whether we are selecting delicious fruits and vegetables, assembling catering platters or packing your food into boxes, each member of our team takes pride in the quality of his or her products and handles every item with care.


    Should I tip my deliveryperson?
    You are under no obligation to tip but have the option of providing a nominal tip if you feel that you've received exceptional service. FreshDirect personnel are not permitted to solicit tips under any circumstances. If you have a comment or compliment use our Get Help area. We'd love to hear from you!


    What is the "Bottle Deposit" line on my invoice?
    In accordance with state law, FreshDirect may collect a Bottle Deposit for each bottle of certain items, such as beer, soda, mineral water and still waters.

    Your total deposit amount is displayed as a separate line item in your shopping cart and on your invoice.

    If you wish to recover the deposit, empty bottles and cans may be redeemed at any redemption center, or you may bring them to the main entrance of our facility at 23-30 Borden Avenue, Long Island City, Queens.

    FreshDirect can only redeem the deposit for the bottles and cans of products that we sell. Please note: our delivery personnel cannot accept bottles and cans for redemption.


    What if my order contains beer or wine?
    If your order contains alcoholic beverages, the person who receives your order must have identification proving that they are over the age of 21, and they will be asked for their signature.

    If no one over the age of 21 can sign for the order, the driver will remove alcoholic beverages from the order and you will be charged a 50% restocking fee. (Please note: alcohol can only be delivered to our New York State customers.)


    I am a business customer, so why is my account listed as "Residential"?
    At this time, FreshDirect At The Office service is not available in all areas. We are working on expanding the service to additional areas in the future. See our Corporate Delivery page for the areas that we serve.


    What is the Fuel Surcharge?
    In order to help offset the impact of dramatic rises in oil and fuel prices, FreshDirect has added a fuel surcharge. The fuel surcharge helps cover not merely the increased cost of making deliveries to our customers, but also broad increases in commodity and utility prices that directly effect running — and refrigerating — our facility.
