Our chef recommends using a 10-12" non-stick sauté pan or wok. Heat the pan for 2 minutes over medium-high heat.
To cook broccoli/scallions in the microwave: While the pan is heating, microwave the broccoli/scallion bag for 1 ½-2 minutes, FreshDirect logo side up. Remove the broccoli/scallion steam bag from the microwave, carefully open at the seam and reserve
To cook broccoli/scallions on the stovetop: Add a ½ cup of water to the pan. Turn the heat to medium-high. Add the broccoli and the scallions to the pan (from the bag). Cover the pan and let steam for 5-7 minutes; or until the broccoli is al dente. Remove the broccoli and the scallions from the pan and reserve. Wipe the pan out and return it to medium-high heat
Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the hot pan. Add the beef to the pan in a single layer; sear for 1 minute (or until golden brown). Turn the pieces over and cook for 1 minute longer. Add the vegetables and sauce (with the water chestnuts) to the pan. Toss to coat all ingredients and cook for 1 minute more. Serve and enjoy!
