  • Named for their larger, elongated shape, Banana Shallots are a touch milder and sweeter than their smaller relatives. They possess a delicate hint of garlic and onion and while sharp when raw, will mellow out nicely when sautéed. Shallots bring out the flavors of every ingredient you cook them with—they're wonderful in sauces and vinaigrettes. We love to coat them with balsamic vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil and roast them as an accompaniment for lamb or beef tenderloin.
