The De Wets of Excelsior have a proud winemaking tradition dating back to 1697. Their dedication to create noble cultivar wines of the finest quality has remained unchanged. Cabernet Sauvignon is the most planted variety at Excelsior. Vines vary in age from 5 – 20 years. Water stress is used to produce tiny, concentrated berries that give depth of flavor to their wines.
Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich blackish plum color, brimming with abundant blackcurrant aromas. This full-bodied wine is a mouthful of juicy plum flavors and soft ripe tannins. Delightfully versatile, this wine makes a delicious partner to a wide variety of foods, including chicken, red meats, game, or rich pastas. (from the vintner)
