Nestled in the sunshine-bathed, amber hills above the Cachagua region of Carmel Valley, and brushed by gentle cooling ocean breezes, the Heller Estate has been producing luscious fruit-laden wines since 1970.
Heller Estate Cachagua Cabernet Sauvignon is a good expression of Cabernet; displaying rich, dense aromas of chocolate covered berries, honeycomb, dried currants, herbs and black olives. Also, look for light notes of sweet mint and cranberry sauce mingled with delicate minerality. Youthful on the palate, it has a bright mouthfeel with predominant flavors of tart berries, cocoa and spices. The wine is fruity-but-dry, with medium to full body and gripping dusty tannins.
This is a vibrant, lively wine with great table appeal; pair with prime rib or sip with sharp, dry cheeses and sour French bread. Enjoy this wine now or cellar for three to ten years to develop additional nuances. (from the vintner)
