Every autumn Smith Woodhouse sets aside a small quantity of their finest wines for long-term ageing, chosen for their ability to mature gracefully in oak casks in the lodge in Oporto. After ageing for ten years, they select the best wines to make a Port of superb balance with delicate wood hues, rich mellow fruit and slightly nutty flavors.
This Tawny Port is delicious served at room temperature or chilled with nuts or desserts. Smith Woodhouse Ports are produced in very small quantities by the Symington family, winesmakers in the Douro Valley for over 100 years. (from the vintner)
