I Perazzi, the foundation of the La Mozza winery, was created to be unlike most Morellino (the local name for Sangiovese). The blend, which includes several Mediterranean varieties, is expressive and deeply demonstrates the Maremma terroir. It is named after the pear-like fruit grown on the estate and depicted on the label.
This juicy Morellino is loaded with fruit, spice, smoke and liquorice nuances on the palate. The bright, ripe cherry and soft texture makes this a natural match with fresh Mediterranean flavors and dishes. It is great with tomato-based pastas, pizza, roast turkey, pork and barbecue.
