Dating from 1648, Caronne has been in the hands of the Nony family since the nineteenth century. Bordering St. Julien, it has a very specific soil of gravel on iron-rich sandstone, which combined with traditional method of vinification, produces a most elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that has the capacity to age beautifully.
Château Caronne St.-Gemme Haut-Medoc is made from a blend of 3 varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and some Petite Verdot. With ripe, juicy tannins and warm spices, this wine pairs well with steak, lamb, poultry, cheddar and strawberries. (from the vintner)
