El Buho is a blanco mescal made from 100% Espadin agave. First, hand-selected agaves are slowly roasted underneath Oaxacan earth in a stone pit fire fueled by local oak for a week before being crushed by horse on a tahona stone mill. The mast ferments for a couple days, is double distilled in a 5th generation alembic still and then bottled by hand in an authentic Mexican glass decanter.
El Buho has notes of vanilla, salt, citrus, caramel, dark chocolate and ancho chile. It's great to use as a base for cocktails—or better yet, sip neat on any occasion. (from the producer)
