Château de Laubade was built in 1870 in the heart of the noblest area of the appellation: the Bas Armagnac. Today Laubade is the premier Armagnac property.
Laubade's V.S.O.P is made mainly from Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche with smaller amounts of Colombard and Baco. The final blend comprises more than 20 brandies between 6 and 12 years of age. It has a nice golden color with rich aromas of ripe fruits, plum, pastry, vanilla, and citrus. The oak flavors from the aging in barrels are not overwhelming. This brandy gradually develops fragrances of vanilla, chocolate, nougat, and violets. It is to be savored as a digestive or as an aperitif. (from the vintner)
