DescriptionRaffault's Chinon Rosé is considered the finest of the Loire Valley. It is made from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes in a vineyard dedicated to rosé production.
Jean-Maurice and Rodolphe Raffault's family began cultivating vines in Chinon 14 generations ago, when their ancestor, Mathurin Bottreau, bought his first parcel of vines in 1693. The Chinon appellation has soils and climate that are perfectly suited to the cultivation of the Cabernet Franc.
This rosé is round and fresh with aromas of ripe red berry and cherry fruit. It is a little richer than most because the grapes were riper at harvest and the yield was lower. It has a long, fresh and succulent finish. The natural fruity acidity makes this a fine match for Asiatic cuisine, grilled fish, and spicy American foods. A remarkable value for a wine of such depth and complexity. (from the vintner)
