DescriptionLustau is considered the standard-bearer for top-quality Sherry. San Emilio is a very sweet sherry produced with 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes. The flavor is sweet and fruity, smooth, velvety, and balanced with a long, lingering finish.
A commitment to tradition and innovation in pursuit of quality has accompanied Lustau from its humble beginnings to now. The Solera Familiar range originates in the old soleras founded by Emilio Lustau early in his career as an Almacenista.
The Pedro Ximénez grapes are laid out in the sun after picking until they are practically raisins. The viscous concentrated wine is aged in American oak casks in the traditional Solera method. Ebony in color with iodine highlights. The aromas are reminiscent of figs and raisins in the nose. Enormously sweet, velvety, and soft on the palate, well balanced, with a very long finish. Serve slightly chilled with rich desserts, cakes and pastries, or pour over vanilla ice cream. Perfect companion for strong blue cheeses. Ideal as a digestive. (from Lustau)
