When you live on the edge of the Arctic Circle, you need to know how to have fun. Here in Iceland, we begin by making our own unique vodka.
Reyka comes from Iceland's only distillery located in Borgarnes, a small village steeped in Viking history and lore. Reyka is an Icelandic vodka, distilled from wheat and barley. It is also the world's first "green" vodka made from glacial water and distilled using sustainable energy from the geothermal heat of Iceland's volcanos.
The water for Reyka comes from an arctic spring that runs through a 4,000-year-old lava field. It's some of the purest in the world. Reyka is distilled in small batches on a rare Carter-head still. Its high copper levels give unparalleled smoothness from a single distillation. The vodka is filtered through lava rocks giving it a crisp, clean taste with a smooth finish. (from Reyka)
