Black Dirt Bourbon takes its name from the dark, fertile soil left by an ancient glacial lake that once covered thousands of acres of upstate New York. It is distilled from 80% Black Dirt-grown corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye. Aged a minimum of three years in new charred American Oak. Both the nose and palate offer pronounced notes of caramel, toffee, and chocolate, which merge with hints of oak and baking spice on the lingering finish.
Black Dirt Distillery was formed in early 2012 to meet the demand of the newly crafted and already renowned Black Dirt Bourbon and Black Dirt Apple Jack, born at the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery. (from Black Dirt Distillery)
