A blend of finished Pierre Ferrand Cognac and grape juice from the Cognac region that is allowed to marry and age for 12+ months in casks. An amber gold colored liquid with a complex and elegant nose — notes of honey, tilleul, fleur de vigne mixed with fresh fruits — like peach, prune, fig and dry almond with a hint of vanilla. The palate is very fresh at the beginning with a nice balance between the fruitiness, sweetness and the acidity of the Pineau.
An incredible versatile beverage, its combination of sweetness and fortification lends itself to use as both a dessert wine or an aperitif wine — the locals in cognac serve chilled Pineau to guests in the summertime like rosé. An amazing accompaniment to cheeses (especially salty ones); Pineau can also be substituted for vermouth in cocktails.
