In the heart of Corsica, down the Popolasca snowy peaks, the spectacular 200 acre vineyard of Domaine Vico overlooks the Golo Valley. The estate and the vineyard benefit from a unique location in the mountains surrounding the village of Morosaglia, in the northeastern part of Corsica. In fact, Domaine Vico is the only winery located in the interior of the island of Corsica.
The vineyards were planted by Jean Vico in 1902, with many vines at the very limit of wine growing zones in Corsica. Their delectable rosé is a blend of Nielluccio (Sangiovese), Grenache, and Sciaccarellu, fermented in stainless steel and aged on the lees for six months; it shows bright aromas of red fruit on a juicy palate, finishing with refreshing acidity and a hint of salinity. A fabulous food wine, Vico should be enjoyed with grilled chicken, cold cuts, shellfish and seafood salads. (from the vintner)
