- DescriptionChâteau d'Aurilhac is at the head of the queue in the new generation of the great wines of the Medoc. Daurilhacs terroir, in the rural district of Pauillac, surpasses itself each vintage by a vinification and maturation process always more ambitious: it's a dense and complicated wine with subtle and resounding aromas.
In 1983, Eric Nieuwaal began the transformation of his in-law's property from grazing land into one of the most highly rated wine estates in the region. With a show of tremendous tenacity and energy, the Dutchman entirely replanted the 11 hectares with vines that are now producing intense, concentrated, medal-winning wines. Aurilhac is superbly situated on one of the best terroirs in Saint-Seurin de Cadourne, a hamlet in the commune of Pauillac.
Sombre but brilliant ruby red colored wine with dark purple tints. The expressive bouquet combines floral and fruity notes with quality oak. The palate is chewy and concentrated, with a top-quality tannic structure that offers length without roughness. Enjoy with roast lamb or beef and fine cheeses.
