You'll find more rich and nuanced flavors in a cold-brewed coffee than in coffee that's brewed with heat. Our experts recommend you use filtered or bottled water for the best quality. Once you've made your brew, it'll keep in your refrigerator for days. Just add ice, cream or flavored syrups to your concentrated brew and enjoy.

1. In a large pot or mixing bowl, stir 5 ounces of ground coffee into one quart of filtered or bottled water. (A coarse or electric drip grind works best.)
2. Let this mixure sit 8 hours or overnight, either at room temperature or refrigerated.
3. Filter your coffee. The fastest, cleanest way to filter cold-brewed coffee is by using a French press. A metal or paper filter can also be used, but it's a messier method. Pour filtered coffee into an appropriately sized pitcher or jar. Cover and chill.
3. Serve in glasses filled with ice. Add cream and/or sugar to taste. Cold-brewed coffee will retain its quality for five days when properly chilled.
