PARMESAN TWISTS

It can take quite a while for puff pastry to thaw; be sure to check the box for thawing directions the day before you plan to make the twists.

1 17.25-ounce package puff pastry, thawed
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) grated Parmesan
1 tablespoon poppy or sesame seeds (optional)

PREPARATION

Heat oven to 400° F. Cut 1 puff pastry sheet lengthwise into 24 strips. Brush with the egg and sprinkle with the Parmesan and seeds (if using). Hold 1 end of each strip in each hand and twist. Place on 2 baking sheets. Bake until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm.
