    A delicious combination of sweet peas and sweet pears, this pale green porridge offers baby some vitamin C and iron.

    Makes about 2 cups or 32 tablespoons
    Prep time: 5 minutes
    Total time: 30 minutes

    1 1/2 cup frozen green peas
    1 to 2 medium pears (peeled, cored and cut into 1" pieces)
    1/2 cup cooked couscous, quinoa or steamed brown rice

    Print recipe

    1. Cook peas in a steamer over boiling water for about 4 minutes, or microwave with 1 tablespoon of water for 4 minutes.
    2. Simmer chopped pears in a small amount of water until softened (about 15 minutes) or microwave with 1 tablespoon of water for 3-4 minutes, or until softened. Reserve cooking liquid.
    3. In a food processor or blender, combine cooked peas, pears and couscous (or quinoa/brown rice) with 1-2 tablespoons of the pear liquid. Purée until smooth.
    4. Divide purée into 1- to 2-tablespoon portions, and use immediately or freeze.
