When fully ripe, sugar plums burst with a candy-like sweetness that fits their name. Large and oblong with a snappy skin, they have juicy flesh surrounding a pit that can be removed easily. These sugar plums are brought to us by Watsonia Farms, an organic family farm that has existed in South Carolina for more than 100 years. Plan ahead! Our plums arrive firm. They'll soften in 3-5 days at room temperature, or you can speed up the process by storing them in a paper bag. When your plums yield to gentle pressure, they're ready.
