The Fresh Dog by Farideh Sadeghin
FreshDirect has teamed up with the author of The Hot Dog Cookbook to create a special Bronx-inspired hot dog! It's making its debut at a special Yankee Stadium event—and you can try it for yourself with Farideh's original recipe: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 c mayo and 1 tbsp Calabrian chili paste. Transfer to a piping bag or squeeze bottle, if you have one. In a food processor, blend 1.25 oz basil leaves, 1/2 c olive oil, 1 tbsp red wine vinegar, and 1 clove garlic until smooth. Toss with 1 pt quartered cherry tomatoes in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Grill and assemble 8 hot dogs and buns. Tear a piece of bocconcini over each dog, then squiggle or dollop with chili mayo. Top with tomatoes and drizzle over any leftover dressing. Garnish with basil leaves.
