CONNOR & ADY’S
BAKED-HARD SELTZER
Original La Croixxant
La Croixxant repurposes our day-old croissants into a drink in which you can taste the flaky, buttery layers.
La Müffin Bottom
Eating only the muffin top is wasteful no more! La Müffin Bottom takes the bottoms from our banana bread muffins uses their sweetness to balance the mysteriously acrid aftertaste.
La Souxflé
Approximately one in four FreshDirect soufflés are rejected for not being puffy enough. With La Souxflé, those deflated duds are transformed into a drink that tastes just like chugging an egg.
La Brown-Ouî
When pot was legalized in New York, we got really excited and whipped up a huge batch of space brownies. But then we forgot about them and they nearly burned in the oven.
The yeastiest new beverage on the market was born in 2020, when creators Connor and Ady Mal were in the deep throes of quarantine boredom. The pastry-loving, beer-chugging couple from Brooklyn found themselves perched in front of the TV at all hours, mindlessly stuffing themselves with croissants and gulping down IPAs. Noticing they had packed on more than a few COVID pounds, Connor and Ady decided to lighten up their consumption by switching to carrot sticks and hard seltzer. But they soon realized that the little joy they had left in their pandemic lives was vanishing without the taste of those buttery, flaky layers.
With too much time on their hands, Connor and Ady toyed around with recreating their favorite baked goods without any of the unhealthy stuff. They tried cauliflower eclairs and air-fried donuts made from zucchini, but the results were predictably bad since they had never baked anything before. As Connor reflected on his failures, staring pensively at the can of pumpkin spice hard seltzer in his hand, he had a thought: what if he tried infusing his drink with the pastries he loved, wringing out all the flavor but none of the fat or calories?
Connor and Ady got to work, dumping a case of croissants and a value-sized jug of hard seltzer into a bucket and letting the flavors meld. Once the brew was ready, they gave it a taste and were overjoyed: the flavor was rich and bread-y with a gentle effervescence as if someone had distilled the essence of a bakery down into a few drops.
Connor and Ady knew they had stumbled onto something worth sharing, which is when they reached out to FreshDirect to gauge our interest in collaborating and distributing the seltzers. Always eager to help up-and-coming food brands, as well as to introduce customers to the weirdest products on the market, we were happy to partner with the duo. It was also a great opportunity to upcycle our extra baked goods, which otherwise would have gone to our weekly competitive eating contests for employees.
Connor & Ady’s Artisanal Baked Hard Seltzers are meant for anyone who has ever walked into a bakery, smelled the aroma, and thought “Hey, someone should put that in a can!” And because they’re low in both fat and alcohol, you can enjoy them without worrying about packing on the pounds or the dead brain cells.
Sadly, Baked-Hard Seltzers are not real but we have many other hard seltzers to choose from. Shop Now.
