The Tastiest Mulled Wine

When the weather gets chilly, mulled wine is the perfect way to warm yourself from head to toe. We like to shake up the traditional recipe by swapping out the brandy for scotch, which adds more of a smoky flavor. And for an extra flavor punch, we’ll throw in fresh ginger and orange slices to make this drink truly sing with the flavors of the winter season. Check out the recipe below!

Mulled Wine With Scotch Recipe

What You’ll Need

1 750-ml bottle red wine
2 oz. scotch
3 tablespoons honey
2 cinnamon sticks
3 cardamom pods
1/2 teaspoon whole white peppercorns
2 whole cloves
2 star anise
1 blood orange, cut into rings
2-inch piece ginger, thinly sliced

What To Do

Put all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a very gentle simmer over medium heat (do not boil). Let simmer for at least 10 minutes and up to 2 hours—the longer it sits, the more fragrant it will be.

Pour into glass mugs and enjoy!
