Braised Beef Short Rib: The Braised Beef Short Rib pierogi is like a gourmet meal without the prep (or clean-up) - beef braised in red wine, with diced carrots, onions and a touch of honey, all wrapped up in dough. Pre-cooked, just heat and eat. Veselka was founded in 1954 in the heart of the East Village by Volodymyr and Olha Darmochwal, Ukrainian refugees who settled in Little Ukraine. Their warm, welcoming spirit and rich culinary traditions live on three generations later.
