Newman's Own Low Fat Organic Fig Newmans

We love figs and many of us grew up eating and enjoying them. We wanted to do a fig cookie for a long time and Paul Newman was a big Fig Newton fan. When mulling over a name for our new line of fig cookies, Paul Newman suddenly smiled and said "Let's call them Fig Newmans." With our recipe and Paul's inspiration, the first fig bar made with organic figs, organic sugar, organic flour, and without hydrogenated oils was created. When we were doing research on figs we found there were a number of organic fig growers in California; we are delighted to be able to support these growers with our product. The new cookie wouldn't have come to fruition without the cooperation of Kraft, as the name is being used under license from them. We salute Kraft for all their help with our Fig Newmans. People love the name, but without Kraft's consent we never could have created this product. (from Newman's Own)
