About Our Facilities
Food safety is FreshDirect's number one priority, that's why we developed a dedicated Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) department to ensure the food we sell is safe for our customers and their family.
Our FSQA controllers are onsite 24 hours a day to monitor and test our assortment of products in our in-house laboratory. Through the auditing of products, such as our best-tasting fruit, veggies and artisanal food, we're able to prevent foodborne illnesses.
All of the products brought into our facility, including the grocery staples you know and love, are inspected based on a risk analysis. We require our suppliers to comply with FreshDirect's food safety standards to ensure the products we're delivering are always safe to eat.
Our facility is regularly visited by inspectors from the various city, state, and federal agencies that oversee FreshDirect. In addition, all FreshDirect employees are required to comply with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
