How To Make a Bread Soup Bowl

When you serve your soup in a bowl made out of bread, it goes from simple to soul-soothingly satisfying in an instant. Just pick your soup, grab one of our delicious sourdough boule breads, follow these easy steps, and then get spooning! How to do it: Let your sourdough boule(s) thaw - 2 hours at room temperature or overnight in the fridge; you'll need 1 boule per person. When ready to assemble, preheat the oven to 400 F. Make a horizontal cut 1/2 to 1-inch below the top of the boule. Using your fingers, press the center of the boule into the sides to create a bowl shape. Place the boule on a baking sheet and toast in oven until completely warmed through, 15-17 minutes. Warm up your soup, then pour into the toasted boule and serve, making sure to enjoy pieces of the soaked bread.
