Try this cheesy Italian meatloaf tonight
Meatloaf is a classic for a reason. Rediscover its charms with this recipe that incorporates comforting Italian flavors: Preheat oven to 400 F. Soak 1 c panko in 1 c milk. Mix together 1 lb ground beef or turkey, 1 lb ground pork (or more turkey), 2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1 tsp crushed fennel seed, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, soaked panic, 2 beaten eggs, 3 tbsp chopped parsley, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1 oz grated Parmesan, and 5 oz diced provolone. Shape into a loaf and place in a 9x13 baking dish. Pour over half a 24 oz container of tomato sauce. Sprinkle with another 1 oz grated Parmesan, 4 oz grated provolone, and 1/2 c breadcrumbs. Bake in oven at 400 F for 30 minutes, then lower heat to 325 F and continue cooking until an internal temp of 150 F is reached. Cover dish with foil if at any point loaf looks dry. Once done, let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving with the rest of the container of tomato sauce.
