It was in the early 1920s that many defiant residents of a small town in Iowa became outlaws — producing a high-caliber and much sought-after bootleg whiskey known as Templeton Rye. Today's Templeton Rye uses a mash made up of 95 percent rye and stays true to the Kerkhoff family recipe. This classic rye has dry, grassy, and natural spice aromas. The palate has hints of caramel, butterscotch, toffee, and allspice with a lingering and slightly chewy body. The finish is balanced, clean, and silky smooth. Templeton Rye is good to drink alone or as a key ingredient in famous cocktails.
