August is Local Month
We're proud to partner with lots of great local farms and artisans, who bring us an incredible array of food all year round. But there's no better time than now to appreciate their goods, when the harvest season is at its peak!
Buy one hummus, get one salsa FREE
For a limited time only, buy any Ithaca hummus and get a FREE Ithaca salsa. Add both items to your basket and discount will show on your salsa at checkout! Since we debuted our original lemon garlic hummus at the Ithaca Farmers Market back in 2013, we have never compromised on fresh ingredients. When we say lemons, we mean real lemons. When we say fresh, we mean no preservatives. We even created a special cold process to maintain the true flavors of our real food ingredients. Trust us, it's worth it. You can taste the difference.
Bread Alone's win for sustainability
Bread Alone is already known for their French sourdough with its deep, yeasty flavor. Now, there's even more reason to love it with environmentally-friendly, compostable packaging! It comes in a bag that's bio-based, biodegradable, compostable, and breaks down in marine environments. You can even reuse it to collect your food waste and compost!
The Koyo Berry, vertically grown in the Garden State
The Koyo Berry is a bite of summer, grown in the world's largest indoor vertical strawberry farm in Jersey City. With a refreshing sweetness and subtle tartness, try it alongside other FreshDirect offerings like Brooklyn Kura #14 Junmai Ginjo sake, and Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog Chèvre. It's a delicious berry that's always-in-season, pesticide free, non-GMO, and perfectly ripe every single time.
Brothers Ridge Farm in Tioga County, NY believes in making every day a good one for their flock, and they always do what's best for the environment and their animals. Their lambs are raised without hormones or antibiotics, and graze on open grasses and non-GMO grain. As a result, the quality and taste is remarkable. We're proud to be their exclusive partner and bring the most flavorful, chef-quality cuts to your dinner table.

Talea Beer: local + women-owned
Talea Beer Co.'s story starts with two women homebrewers, LeAnn and Tara, who set out on a mission to create the sort of beers that they wanted but had a hard time finding on the market. Beers that are fruit-forward, low in bitterness, well-balanced, and easy to love and drink. We couldn't be more excited to carry their made in NYC brews, which come in cans with eye-catching designs.
Crudité your way
Local produce supports small farms, travels fewer miles, and arrives to you fresher. So when making a veggie platter, you'll wanna put these beauties front and center. Cut 'em up (or use our pre-cut options for a quick solution) and pair with your favorite dips. You can go classic hummus or ranch, or kick things up a notch with baba ghanouj or green goddess dressing!
Love local: Adirondack Creamery
Paul Nasrani, the ice cream genius behind this much-loved brand, is a firm believer that local products taste better. So from his facility in upstate New York, he sources milk and cream from nearby farms, which contain a higher-than-average butter fat content (meaning it's extra creamy and delicious). From unique specialty flavors to a vanilla that critics adore, each of these pints has got that "only in New York" swagger.
