    How To: Brussels Sprouts With Bacon

    A little bacon can make even Brussels sprouts skeptics appreciate this nutrient-rich veg. To make it: Preheat oven to 400 F. Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a sheet pan. Chop a few slices bacon into small pieces and sprinkle onto the sprouts. Roast in oven until sprouts are nicely browned and bacon is crisp, 25-30 minutes. If desired, you can also toss everything with a drizzle of maple syrup or some nuts before roasting.

    How To: Hasselback Potatoes

    These thinly-ridged potatoes make for a delicious dinner side or entertaining app, since the slices let the butter soak into each and every bite. Preheat your oven to 425 F while you cut 4 potatoes into 1/8 inch slices, leaving the bottom 1/4 inch unsliced so the potato stays together. Mix 4 tbsp melted, browned butter or olive oil, herbs, and salt and pepper together, then pour the half the mixture in between the slices and bake for about 30 minutes. Pour the remainder in between the slices and bake for another 30 minutes, or until crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
